Baldur's Gate is a series of RPG games developed by Bioware. The original game, Baldur's Gate (released in 1998), sold in excess of 4 million copies and was given an impressive number of awards (including Game of the Year). Without giving away the plot of the game, suffice it to say that the tasks you are presented with are grand in proportion. Shortly thereafter an expansion pack (Tales of the Sword Coast, or ToSC) was released.

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn (BG2) was released in 2000 and took up where BG1 and ToSC let off. This time our intrepid adventurer has wound up in Amn, and an even greater adventure unfolds. This game, also, won a huge number of awards, including Game of the Year. An expansion pack, Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal (ToB) was released in 2001, which finally finished up the entire Baldur's Gate saga.

All-in-all, the Baldur's Gate saga chronicles the epic life of your character as he battles from a very low-level in BG1 to obscenely powerful in ToB. Whereas most games of this nature can typically be completed in a couple dozen hours of gameplay, BG1 alone offers five CDs and over a hundred hours of gameplay. Needless to say, this is one of the greatest (if not the greatest) AD&D-based game ever made for a computer. As such, despite its mostly linear nature, there is a great deal of replay value associated with it, as well as a large user following.

As a direct result of a forum dedicated to Baldur's Gate, the following guides, FAQs and lists have been compiled for the good of the Baldur's Gate community in general. Unfortuanetly an excellent forum and walkthrough resource site is gone. However, we've moved a good core of the forum to clankiller.com. You can access those forums at http://forums.clankiller.com.

Dual-Classing GuideDual-Classing, or changing your character's class from one type to another, has confused many people in the past due to the complexities involved. This guide fully spells out precisely what dual-classing is, how it works, and what you need in order to accomplish it.
Frequently Asked QuestionsThe FAQ is a list of the most Frequently Asked Questions that we have encountered on the forum. If you have any question regarding BG2, ToB or BG in general, consult this FAQ before asking your question online. Chances are, your answer is in here somewhere. Please note, there are spoilers within.
Cleric/Druid SpellsDue to an oversight on Bioware's side, the difference between Cleric and Druid spells were never clearly delineated. As such, the following listing shows precisely which spells are only for clerics, which only for druids, and which they both share.
Cespenar's ArtifactsHere is a complete listing off all the items that Cespenar can forge in ToB. It includes the item, its stats, its requirements, as well as the items needed to forge them, their locations, and the money needed. In addition, every single item has an in-game screenshot associated with it. This is the most complete guide available on the internet (to my knowledge, at least).
